Versatile Capability

Sure-footed fun

Seek out once-in-a-lifetime experiences in one-of-a-kind places with the 2024 Subaru Forester. Loaded with standard features like the all-weather capability of Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, the protection of EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology, and the convenience of Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ integration, you’ll appreciate the Forester even more with every mile.

Standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive

The standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system in the 2024 Forester is designed to optimize traction in rain, snow, on rough roads, or even when there’s no road at all. It constantly evaluates acceleration, braking, and cornering in real time to continuously deliver power to all four wheels. If a wheel slips, power is instantaneously transferred to the wheels that have the most grip.

Stability and Control

With its exceptionally balanced layout, Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive delivers a solid connection with the road and an engaged, responsive drive. The entire system lies along the centerline of the vehicle, balancing weight distribution between the two sides to help provide optimal performance and control.

Fuel Efficiency and Durability

With gas mileage up to 33 MPG and over 540 miles of driving range, the 2024 Forester delivers competitive fuel efficiency. Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive has demonstrated its durability and low maintenance over four decades of owner-tested Subaru vehicles, so you can be confident your Forester will keep taking you farther year after year.

Standard EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology

The 2024 Forester features standard EyeSight Driver Assist Technology, which acts like an extra set of eyes on the road and, if need be, an extra foot on the brake when you drive. EyeSight includes a number of advanced active safety systems to protect you and your family on every drive. Automatic Emergency Steering can help you avoid collisions by providing automatic steering and pre-collision braking support if it determines there’s enough space to intervene.

Pre-Collision Braking

Automatic Pre-Collision Braking helps you avoid or reduce frontal impacts by alerting you and applying full braking force in emergency situations. Pre-Collision Throttle Management can reduce the power from the engine to help minimize the possible impact force and frontal impact damage.

Adaptive Cruise Control

Advanced Adaptive Cruise Control with Lane Centering adds extra convenience and safety on every drive. Just choose the distance you want to keep from the car in front of you and it can take some of the stress out of everyday driving by helping with steering, braking, and throttle control while maintaining a safe distance ahead.

The Blind-Spot Detection system warns you with a visual indicator on each side mirror if it senses a vehicle in your blind spots. Rear Cross-Traffic Alert helps warn you of traffic approaching from the side as you are backing up. Capability

The impressive off-road capability of the Forester Wilderness starts with its dependable Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive. It features a balanced design for better stability on a wide range of surfaces and optimizes power distribution between the wheels to deliver maximum traction on challenging trails or in slippery weather conditions. Working together with the rest of the all-terrain upgrades on the Forester Wilderness, you can count on the confident grip of Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive to take your adventures deeper into the backcountry than ever before.

9.2 Inches of Ground Clearance with Front Skid Plate and Improved Angles

The Forester Wilderness can ride above rough terrain thanks to 9.2 inches of ground clearance – something the Toyota RAV4 TRD Off-Road and Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk can’t match – and the added protection of a standard front skid plate. The design of the front and rear bumpers helps keep clear of larger rocks and other obstacles with improved approach and departure angles.

For better traction in all kinds of conditions, the Forester Wilderness features standard Yokohama GEOLANDAR® A/T all-terrain tires mounted to unique 17-inch matte black-finish alloy wheels. You’ll feel free to explore even farther down the trail with a full-size spare wheel and tire stored below the cargo area.

SUBARU BOXER® Engine and Revised Drivetrain Gearing

Along with the time-tested reliability of its direct-injection SUBARU BOXER engine, the Forester Wilderness drivetrain features retuned gearing with revised ratios for improved low-speed climbing – up to a 40 percent grade. You can bring along even more gear and adventure equipment with an upgraded towing capacity of up to 3,000 pounds – that’s more weight than the Ford Bronco Sport Badlands can handle.

Engineered for Endless Adventure and Lasting Value

The Forester Wilderness is built to conquer trail after trail — 96% of Forester vehicles sold in the past 10 years are still on the road today. The Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V, Mazda CX-5, Nissan Rogue, and Ford Escape can’t say the same. Just like the Forester Wilderness, that value just keeps going. Subaru Forester has earned both the lowest 5-Year Cost to Own in its class and Best Resale Value in its class for four years running, according to Kelley Blue Book's KBB.com.
